Our story
A family-run cruise on a coastline we love.
Ocean Joy Cruises was founded in 2003 by Shane Griffin, who fell in love with the Waiʻanae coast on his first boat tour and never looked back.
Today, Ocean Joy is still family-owned, still operating out of Ko Olina Marina, and still focused on one thing: showing guests the real, unspoiled Hawaiʻi. We give every guest personal attention — from the first phone call to the last "mahalo" at drop-off.
Our crew is a true Hawaiian ʻohana of watermen, naturalists, photographers, and hula dancers who live for this coastline.

Ocean Joy founded
Shane Griffin launches snorkel + dolphin tours on the Waiʻanae coast.
2008
Move to Ko Olina Marina
A purpose-built home base for daily departures.
2014
Dolphin SMART certified
Among the first Hawaiian operators to commit to responsible dolphin viewing.

Kai ʻOliʻOli launched
Our 49-passenger luxury catamaran, custom-built for snorkel cruises.
