Hawaiian spinner dolphins rest by day in the calm, sheltered bays along Oʻahu's leeward shore — the stretch of coastline running from Ko Olina and Kapolei up through Waiʻanae and Mākaha. Sheltered from the trade winds and open-ocean swell, these waters are where pods of 50 to 200 spinner dolphins gather to recover from a night of deep-water hunting, which makes the Waiʻanae coast the most reliable place on the island to watch wild dolphins.

Will we actually see dolphins?
Wild spinner dolphins are seen year-round off the leeward Waiʻanae coast, often in pods of 50 to 200, so sightings are very common. Because these are wild animals we can never guarantee them, but our morning and afternoon cruises carry a sighting guarantee.
Can we swim with the dolphins?
We view dolphins responsibly under Dolphin SMART certification — we never chase, touch, feed, or swim with wild pods. Our crew idles the engines and keeps a respectful distance so the dolphins stay safe and calm.
What kind of dolphins will we see?
Almost always Hawaiian spinner dolphins (naiʻa), which rest by day in the calm leeward bays. Bottlenose dolphins turn up now and then, usually in larger pods further offshore.
What should I bring?
Just sunscreen, a towel, and a swimsuit — snorkel gear is provided, and every cruise includes about an hour of guided snorkeling plus a Hawaiian buffet and drinks. We're a USCG-licensed, family-run operation and have been since 2003.
